About Lucky Castle Art Studio

My Name is Isabella Castle and I own Lucky Castle Art Studio with my husband Chad Castle. My background is in fine art with an emphasis on portraiture. I have my degree in illustration Design from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. I worked for a private art studio teaching art to kids for years and I most recently was the Visual Arts Coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club. I have such a passion for art education and opening this studio has been a life long dream of mine. I am unbelievably lucky to be starting this dream in partnership with my wonderful husband who owns the frame shop directly next door, Castle Custom Framing. When I grew up times were not always easy and I never had a place to go where I felt was a fun and safe place to create art, I hope this studio can be that space for many kids and adults alike. My husband and myself live in Highland Park and are so in love with this community, we hope that Lucky Castle Art Studio can be a beacon of creativity for this community. 

My name is Linsey McCollam and I am a teacher at Lucky Castle. I got my degree in Painting and Art History at West Virginia University, and have worked with children for 5+ years. Having a background in fine art has been such a strong tool for teaching art to the younger generation, and I honestly learn so much from them everyday! In my own work I create surrealistic oil paintings, mostly involving the human figure in different imaginative backgrounds. Creating art often involves patience and determination, and one of my greatest joys is to show my students what they’re capable of. Almost always, it’s way more than they could imagine! Bella has been one of my dearest friends for many years and is one of the greatest teachers I know. It has been such a privilege to see this dream come true for her! The Highland Park community has been so welcoming— I feel lucky to be a part of it and to be able to foster a love for art and creativity for the younger ones :)
